Sustainable Moseley
SusMo - Sustainable Moseley - Cutting CO2
SusMo is a local campaign set up by the Neighbourhood Forum for Moseley, one of Birmingham’s urban villages. We are affiliated to Birmingham-Cutting CO2.
Our aim is to build a more sustainable community both by personal action to cut our household CO2 emissions and through community initiatives. Through working as a group we can learn from one another. We are supported by other local community groups in this vibrant part of the City. Local businesses are taking an interest, as are two local schools. St Mary’s Church has ambitious plans for renewable energy generation on the church and Moseley and District Churches Housing Association is on board. Check out the Moseley Forum website for more news: www.moseleyforum.org.uk
SusMo has set up this website to help everyone living in Moseley (postcode B13) to do our bit to prevent dangerous climate change AND save us money on our fuel and transport bills. Though we cannot access any of your personal data, we will be able to track the progress we are making in our joint efforts in reducing our CO2 emissions. Maybe we’ll be good enough to enter the Big Green Challenge www.biggreenchallenge.org.uk.
So, make your pledge to cut your personal carbon footprint today and together we can help protect our village for generations to come.
When choosing your pledges, include items that you have already completed, as the baseline for pledges is 1990. So make a pledge about fitting three low-energy light bulbs, even if you have done that already – you then return to this pledge to say that you have completed it.
Our achievements in cutting CO2 in Moseley will be recorded with the information we provide for the CARBON CALCULATOR and the ENERGY TOOL. Before launching the Carbon Calculator collect information about the past year: list your regular journeys and longer journeys and how you travelled; and collect information about your home: your energy saving measures, your fuel bills, your appliances etc.
